The Interfaith Council of Alameda County invited Oakland city leaders and community members to a meeting at Oakland's Mormon Temple to get the ball rolling on a project that will provide safe shelters like shipping containers and tiny homes, to be placed on various church properties in the community.
Interfaith Council Proposes Faith-Based Solution to Homelessness
The Interfaith Council of Alameda County (ICAC) is holding a meeting Thursday, Jan. 11th to propose a faith-based homelessness solution plan for the City of Oakland, County of Alameda and the community.
The meeting will be held from noon to 2 p.m. at the Oakland California Mormon Temple, 4770 Lincoln Ave. in Oakland.
Attending with be Oakland City Administrator Sabrina Landreth, Landon Williams of the San Francisco Foundation and Alameda County Supervisors Nate Miley and Wilma Chan.
Also attending will be Oakland City Councilmembers Rebecca Kaplan, Noel Gallo and Abel Guillén.
